Jeram Janggut Falls is a series of 6 waterfalls situated in deep jungle valleys behind Talang Dam. Usually deep waterfalls like this would require a long journey of off-roading over challenging terrain to access the trailhead, but this is not the case for Jeram Janggut. A well paved tarred road circulates around the dam where certain sections are steep and has sharp corners, allowing sedan cars easy access to the interior region.

This waterfall is popular among 4x4 off-roaders, where there is both a river side camp at the trail head and at the main waterfall. This waterfall is NOT suitable for beginners to attempt alone without guidance. The trail can be very slippery during wet seasons, due to the deep muddy ruts and sloped uphill trail.

To reach this waterfall, visitors have to use the Tanjong Ipoh - Langkap Route N135 access road. (Image 1-here) Proceed along the main road and before reaching the Talang Dam, take the right junction to the bridge going across the Muar river.(Image 2) Follow this well maintained tarred road till arriving at Kg. Langkap. At the border of the village near the nursery school and futsal court, there is a wide cemented ground parking space available for vehicles to park without obstructing the road. Sedan cars should park here and proceed no further as the road ahead is narrow single vehicle lane and muddy dirt road without proper spaces for parking.

Proceed via foot along the main road till arriving at a small bridge. Opposite the bridge is an oil palm estate. There are several junctions here and it can be confusing.(Image 3) Take the left most path all the way inside till arriving at the 1st junction. On the left is a 4x4 river side camp. Continue on the right junction up the steep slope.

After passing a muddy section with rubber estate trees, visitors have 2 options available at a Y-junction (Image 4). On the right is the established 4x4 trail. This trail can be muddy & slippery during wet or rainy seasons, in addition to the uphill gradient and eroded path. On the left is the river trek trail that has a vague trail and can be bushy at several sections. This left river trek trail is only recommended to advance and veteran hikers where bushwhacking is required but visitors who attempt it will be well rewarded with plenty of river cascades, deep pools suitable for swimming and 4 additional levels of waterfalls downriver before the main fall. Some of these points of interest are documented below.

The 4x4 trek is a straightforward track. Follow it all the way till arriving at a small clearing near the river. Take the left junction down where a small campsite is available near the waterfall. The Jeram Janggut Fall 5 & 6 is situated near each other. Fall 5 is slightly downriver and visitors have to scramble down the slope to reach it.
