Temaning Falls
Temaning Falls is a moderate height 2 level waterfall situated behind oil palm plantations. According to locals, it is frequented by enduro / scrambler enthusiast with a healthy amount of uphill climbs. Despite the semi-clear trail paths, they are unmarked and has many junctions along the way hence it is not suitable for beginners to attempt without guidance.
Head to Kg Chennah as the landmark. From the small roundabout take the junction towards Kg. Esok. (Image 1) A well paved road with some scenic mountain views passes several riverside campsites and leads visitors to the interior which goes to Lata Kijang waterfall. At a split Y-junction on the outskirts of Kg Tohor, take the left road to reach the starting point of the trail head.(here) On the left there is a narrow dirt road.(Image 2) DO NOT drive inwards as there is no parking beyond this point and the ground may be muddy. Park around the vicinity of the junction by the side of the road without obstructing passing traffic. There are limited parking spaces here, larger groups will have to spread out and park else where.
There is another Y-junction (Image 4) at the peak of the slope where the elevation flattens out. Take the left junction following the clearly well used trail towards the river. After passing a small creek, keep a look out for the 1st waterfall down the slope. There is no trail here and some careful scrambling down slope is required. The wider Temaning Fall 2 is located at a short distance away upriver. Scale back up to continue following the jungle track to reach it.(Image 5)
