Liat Falls is a series of 3 cascade waterfalls situated deep behind a confusing web of oil palm estate. Each waterfall level features sizeable pools that is suitable for swimming. 2 possible trail approaches have been attempted, from the south via Trolak Timur and from the north via Felda Sg Klah. There is a possible 3rd via Felda Trolak Utara, but will require 4x4 vehicle. Due to the long and unlabelled trail, this waterfall is NOT suitable for beginners to attempt. Visitors are also advised to engage a guide who is familiar with the region's landscape.

Liat Falls 1

This guide will only be covering the northern route as it is the easiest route for visitors. Head to Felda Residence Hot Springs Sg Klah as the landmark.(here) The Jln Sg Klah road is a well maintained tarred road going all the way to the hot springs resort. Before reaching the resort, there is a junction going into the palm oil estate on the right.(here) Visitors can park along the road shoulder where there is a small clearing. Ensure to park without obstructing passing traffic. Proceed by foot from this point out.

Head into the palm oil estate with a general bearing of south-east. There are many junctions without specific landmarks or signs. At the end of the palm oil estate border, visitors will pass below a high tension tower before going into jungle territory. The jungle trail is rather clear as enduro riders have been using the region for their activities. Follow the clear trail where visitors will pass 2 streams. (a small creek 1st then later a decently sized stream - Image 1) At the end of the trail, visitors will arrive by the river side of Sg Liat. To visit the Liat Fall 1, follow the river and trek downstream. A wide cascade fall with a large pool awaits.

The Liat Fall 2 requires another 20-30mins of hiking. The trail is vague and may require some river trekking. It is pictured below.

Exploration Notes : Further upriver have been explored and a third cascade fall is found. It is a formed by big rock boulders. Directly above it is another large pool with a high water volume cascade. This is the final spot that we stopped. Both are pictured below.
It is unknown if more levels exist upriver.
