Please note that Chamang waterfall is closed until 31st January 2016 (next year) due to adverse weather conditions and strong current. A clean banner was placed by the authorities right at the end of the road leading to Chamang, just 100 meters away from the entrance to the waterfall.

Chamang is a wonderful place to hang out for a day. The falls are fast and furious with some nice swimming pools just below. Wander around both sides of the river for scenic views and picnic spots. OK for kids but with careful supervision. The entry road is narrow and winding, so go slow and watch the bends and mudslides during rain.

These falls are dangerous for unsupervised children. I hauled 2 out myself. 2 young Malay kids who could not handle the current. Also.. camping on the non road side is not a good idea. When it rains.... hehe.
Yes.. I have to agree... at night sometimes unsavoury characters can come along. Better to run over to Bentong and have the Kuan Loh Mee and the very special Yong Tau Foo......

I like coming here and have been there 3 times in 2 months! But the rapids are strong and dangerous at some spots. My husband and a couple of his colleagues went up the Chamang and the streams and upper falls are quite as spectacular. An important note, DONT GO UP THERE WITHOUT A GUIDE! The rocks are slippery, river is super strong and its a long fall downhill.

It was very beautiful and relaxing. The water was clean and fresh and free of any pollution cos the water was flow out from the high mountains of our great Mother Nature. A wonderful place to spend with your family. Yes, there was a large parking lot for the visitors to use. People do camping on one side of the bank. Lots of trees around the fall. I just love to relax in this wonderful water fall. The quality of water is superbly clean and clear. Where else can you find a good picnic spot with a great fall and the cleanest water???? ONLY FROM BENTONGVILLE (Bentong).

The road signs were adequately posted all the way from Bentong town (going toward Raub), right up to the falls. The 8 km road leading to the falls from the main road is now well paved. The drive in takes you through a Chinese cemetery, orchards, durian plantations, a National Service Training Camp and a (the last) narrow 3 km stretch of pristine primary jungle.
There is a huge car park at the end of the road where you could view the falls without walking more than ten steps from your car. The falls is beautiful and the volume of water is really enormous. This one falls that you can actually do some decent swimming.
Perfect place to visit for those who do not want to hike or walk much.

I did not see the sign as in the photo for some reason. This is how I got to the falls. Coming from KL, and after the Bentong old town, just turn left at the first sign saying "Kampung Chamang" (I think they are two signs for this kampung) and go straight past a school on your right. The road should become windy and go through countryside. There were huges walls of exposed soil - must have experienced a serious landslide recently. Some parts of the road were very narrow. Some construction was going on near the entrance of the falls. Nobody there to collect parking money. The environment was clean, but the toilets were a bit dirty. Quite a number of people were camping. The falls themselves were very beautiful and it was great to sit on the rocks and feel the mist. The water was refreshing and cold and I like the fact that the sides of the stream were mostly rock and sand and not muddy like some other waterfalls.

Just visited Chamang Waterfall today. The road leading to it from Bentong town is in serious state of disrepair. I was so worried about potential of landslide. Anyway, for those who have not visited this awesome waterfall before, better hurry up. The park will be privatised soon; when I was there I was asked to fill up a questionnaire concerning the park and how much one is willing to pay if charged. I asked the survey-taking girl why the survey was carried out and she told me that the authorities are considering privatising the park. Geezz.. this is going to be like another Sg. Congkak Forest Reserve! (a RM30 a night chalet become RM90 upon privatisation @ Sg. Congkak)
