Jerai Fall
Jerai Fall is a tall vertical drop curtain waterfall with water droplets having significant pressure when standing right beneath it. Splashing over dark rocks and forming a small pool at the edge of the waterfall; it should be quite a spectacular scene during wet seasons. The trail is not difficult and clear, with some river trekking at the end to reach the waterfall. With guidance, this waterfall would be suitable even for beginners to visit.
The trail head can be accessed from a few different roads. From the south of Kg Parit Jayus, there is access from Seri Medan village. From the east either from Pagoh or Parit Sulung, it can be accessed from Kangkar Senangar village. Kg Parit Jayus is an oil palm village with networks of narrow tarred roads beside drainage ditches, navigate to the final junction. (Image 1) Take the right junction in. Follow this narrow road in and take a left turn to a tunnel underpass under the North-South Highway. (Image 2)
Navigate north to the trailhead.(Image 3) Follow this wide clear trail up to a forked junction. (Image 4) Take the right junction to head to the river. A small gentle creek will be visible. Cross the creek and up ahead at the river, visitors will have to continue by river trekking. Ribbon markers were visible during our visit along the river trek. The waterfall will be in view not too long after.
Exploration Notes : Base on sources from other hikers there are 2-3 smaller cascade waterfalls upriver.
