Punsai Falls
Punsai Fall is a beautiful waterfall of moderate height that is located on one of the tributary streams of Sg Kenaboi. The jungle trail is moderately long and follows along the main river into the interior region that ends at a durian orchard. While the trail is initially clear, it gets more faint the deeper it goes. Beginners are NOT recommended to attempt this without a guide.
Head to Kg Chennah as the landmark. From the small roundabout take the junction towards Kg. Esok. (Image 1) A well paved road with some scenic mountain views passes several riverside campsites and leads visitors to the interior which goes to Lata Kijang waterfall. Near the signboard that remarks Kg Esok & Rapid Challenge, there is a small junction right down towards the river.(Image 2) There isn't much parking space here with oil palm trees along the road shoulder, larger groups are advised to park outside along the main road and walk in instead. Park without obstructing the road as lorries or tractors share the same access road. Proceed by foot from here.
After passing the oil palm estate and arriving at the border, there will be a jungle trail that passes a few abandoned huts.(Image 4) Proceed on the main trail and cross the skinny wooden bridge. Directly after the bridge there will be a forked junction.(Image 5) Take the right to proceed towards the durian orchard. During our visit, the durian orchard has been in a semi abandoned state and wild undergrowth had taken over the landscape. From here the trail gets vague and visitors will either have to river trek or bushwhack to reach the falls.
