Gerjau Falls consist of 3 waterfalls, 2 cascade type and 1 block type. All levels of waterfall has a pool; albeit varying in size and depth. The water is crystal clear and cold in serene jungle settings. To visit the waterfall, visitors will have to seek permission of the Tok Batin of Kg Tigol village and hire a guide to help navigate the moderately challenging trail. Access to this region is the biggest challenge to visit this waterfall as the roads are in bad shape which requires an offroad capable vehicle (preferable with 4 wheel drive) or traveling light like the locals do on motorcycles.

Gerjau Fall 3

The access road to the village is off Jalan Tersang - Sg Koyan (Route 1504). There is a google POI marking of the road junction. (4.1172, 101.7781) From here on, it is a straight forward road all the way to Kg Tigol. On google maps, it listed the distance as approximately 34.5km for this stretch of road. However due to the offroad nature of the road, it is a painstakingly slow and bumpy ordeal which will take about more than 2 hours to reach. There is also no petrol stations in the interior region, so visitors need to be prepared in advance for both the entry and exit trip. After meeting the tok batin of the village and getting his consent, visitors can take a small road going up to the village. The village has a small cemented clearing that can accommodate no more than 3 vehicles at a time.

With the Tok Batin's permission to visit, hire a local guide to assist navigating the jungle trail. There are sections of the trail that is narrow and treading on trails with a steep inclined slope. Along the way there are 2 waterfalls before reaching Gerjau Fall 3. (Image 1 & 2)

Upon further exploration, the fourth and final Gerjau Fall is found at a good distance away upriver.(Image 3 & 4) Gerjau Fall 4 (4.18844, 101.55356) is a moderately tall fall but zig-zags at an angle into a canyon. To reach the falls, visitors will have to follow the orchard trail on the left of the stream.
