Serpik Falls (or also known as Air Terjun Batu Ular Tedung) was once a popular recreational spot back in the "90s" when local indigenous Semai tribe developed the place as an eco-tourism attraction. Over time its popularity tapered off and its facilities fell into disrepair. Signs of its glory days is evident with the erected signboard still standing. (Source : here) The main fall is a wide and tall sloped cascade fall with a shallow pool at its base. This waterfall is suitable for beginners as the trail is short and quite straightforward.

Serpik Fall

Head to Slim River town as the landmark. Near the administrative complex & Slim river, there is a junction that leads to Ulu Slim region. From the south, it is also possible to access from Behrang Stesen and Tanjung Malim. Follow the main road all the way till arriving at Kg Rasau. Near a bus station at Kg Rasau, take the exit junction (here) where it will lead to Kg Pisang. Upon arriving at Kg Pisang, park at a clearing near the end of the village (Image 1); do not proceed further down the hill as it leads to a dead end by the side of the river where u-turn is very difficult. Park without obstructing local residence.

Proceed by foot down the tarred road down to the river. At the end of it the tarred road abruptly ends with only a small clearing suitable for motorcycles to park. Cross the river to the other end where the tarred road continues up the hill. There is a smaller fall near the hut by the side of the river if visitors do not wish to proceed further. Further uphill, an old battered sign is visible near a junction. Take a left to reach the main Serpik Waterfall.

Adventurous visitors may wish to visit the upper falls. While they are lower in height, it has inviting pools for a nice dip. There are only vague trails to the upper levels from the left of the main Serpik Fall. Scramble up the hill and pass a section of rubber estate trees to follow a river side trail. 2 waterfalls are found near each other pictured below. (Image 2 & 3) Beyond this point are more waterfalls but they are less rewarding and requires river trekking. 3 more can be found at 3.91876, 101.45488, 3.92135, 101.45633 & 3.92212, 101.45688 respectively.
