Upeh Guling
The Upeh Guling is a waterfall in the Jasin river in the Endau Rompin National Park. Upstream in the same river the famous Buaya Sangkut fall can be found, but the Upeh Guling falls are also interesting and worth of a visit. A visit of the fall starts at Kampung Peta, the main entrance of the park. From the jetty you must go by boat on the Endau river to Kuala Jasin, the junction with the Jasin river.
From Kuala Jasin a clear trail starts along the river. Several times the river has to be crossed, either on hanging bridges, or just by wading through the stream. It will take about one hour to reach Kuala Marong, from where it is another half hour to the waterfalls.
The Upeh Guling falls are a mix of waterfalls and cascades. The trail ends near the top of the falls, where you can just walk on the rocks to the pools and falls. A perfect place for a picnic and a bath
Very characteristic for Upeh Guling are the many potholes, eroded in hundreds of thousands of years by the force of water and stones, swirling around.
