When you drive south from Kuching, you will soon be in the rural countryside of the Padawan. This is the region where the Bedayu live, no longer in longhouses, but in attractive kampungs. One of these is Kg Sadir, on the slopes of the Penrissen range. There are several waterfalls near this kampung.
There are at least three waterfalls near this kampung and we had decided first to visit the tallest one, Ban Buan Kukuot. A friendly villager gave us directions how to reach this fall, and we started trekking. The paths are well kept, because they lead to the hill-padi fields. However, we must have missed a junction somwehere, because we were not able to find the fall. So we went back to the kampung and talked with a local. He told us that there are so many trails, it is better to use a guide.
After many hours of unsuccessful trekking it was sheer pleasure to take a refreshing bath here. The fall is almost vertical, so you can take a nice shower here.
It is clear that we will have to come back here, to explore the other falls.
