Talan falls consist of 4 waterfalls situated in Jeram Rekreasi Sg Talan. This eco park does not seems to fall under the jurisdiction of Negeri Sembilan forestry department; it appears to be a local village initiative supported by the local state. It is open everyday and has basic picnic facilities like huts, campsites for rent and toilets. A parking fee of RM3 is imposed per vehicle.
The falls itself is located upriver and a clear trail thru the orchard leads to the 1st fall. Fall 1 is a long gradual sloped fall while Fall 2 is pictured here with a medium sized pool surrounded by huge rock boulders. More falls can be found upriver, the formation is however more segmented and lower in height. The first 2 waterfalls can be safely attempted by beginners as there are semi-clear trails; the upper falls are however not recommended as they are rarely visited with vague trails.
Talan Fall 2
Head to Rembau town as the landmark. Take the Kg Batu junction right after Masjid Kariah.(Image 1) Keep left and take the 1st left junction to Jln Dato Putra.(Image 2) Follow this tarred main road and visitors will arrive at a gate marking the arrival to Jeram Rekreasi Sg Talan. There are ample of parking spaces here available. On weekends or public holidays it may be crowded with picnickers and families.
To access the falls, visitors will have to cross the cement bridge to the right side of the river. Follow the clear trail thru the orchard that will lead to the 1st sloped fall. To reach fall 2, there will be several river crossings and a short rocky section on the left of the river. Adventurous visitors can use the vague trail on the left side of the river to reach the 3rd and 4th falls upriver.
